Phoenix Park spans 1,750 acres with walking paths, deer herds and the Wellington Monument open daily from 5am to midnight. The National Museum of Ireland on Kildare Street runs permanent exhibitions on Irish history with free admission every day from 10am to 5pm.
The Grand Canal linear park provides 8 kilometres of towpath from Portobello to the Grand Canal Dock, where locals fish or cycle without charges. St Stephen's Green features formal gardens and a central pond maintained by Dublin City Council, open from dawn until dusk with no ticket required.
