About the founder
The Daily Dublin was founded by Shane Anderson, an entrepreneur who got tired of watching local news disappear from the cities he loved. In 2026 he started The Daily Network as a simple experiment: one free morning briefing per city, written for the people who actually live there, and never paywalled.
What began as a single city masthead has grown into a federation of city newsrooms across the network — each editorially independent, each locally framed, and each committed to the same mission: give every city the local paper it deserves.
How our journalism works
- We aggregate and curate from verified local news sources, official government feeds, and community calendars
- AI systems summarise, categorise, and generate background articles with full source attribution
- All content is reviewed against our editorial standards before publication
- We do not auto-publish crime reports, court proceedings, or unverified claims
