Bohemians FC completed work on a new 400-square-metre gym at Dalymount Park on 10 July, giving the squad dedicated strength and recovery equipment just weeks before the first leg of their Conference League tie against a Danish side.

The investment comes as the club sits third in the League of Ireland Premier Division with 12 matches left. Club officials say the facility will let coaches run daily sessions without relying on external gyms in the north inner city, where space is tight during summer months.

Why the timing matters for the 2026 season

European qualification carries a reported €650,000 prize for group-stage entry. Bohemians reached the playoff round last year but exited on away goals. The new gym includes four Olympic lifting platforms and a cryotherapy unit, items the club listed as priorities after a post-season review in May.

Local detail shows the site sits on the western side of Dalymount Park, beside the old terrace that faces the River Tolka. Players now walk from the dressing rooms straight into the space rather than crossing Phibsborough Road to a rented unit near the Mater Hospital. The club also shares the venue with the Dublin City Council youth academy programme, which runs evening sessions for under-15 teams from the northside.

Numbers behind the build

Records filed with Dublin City Council show the project cost €875,000, funded through a mix of FAI grants and club sponsorship. The gym can host 28 athletes at once, up from the previous limit of 12 in the borrowed space. Usage logs from the first three days recorded 142 player visits, with sessions running from 8am to 4pm.

Next month the club will open the facility two evenings a week to registered members of the Bohemians supporters trust for supervised classes. Tickets for those slots go on sale through the club office on Connaught Street from 20 July at €8 per session.
